Mobile Storage Association Announces Transportation Workshop

St Louis, MO – November 23, 2004: : The Mobile Self-Storage Association  is pleased to announce its Spring Workshop entitled DOT and Safety Compliance for Mobile Storage Operators. The one-day workshop will take place in Chicago on Tuesday, April 12.

“This workshop is in response to suggestions from our membership we received at the Annual Mobile Self-Storage Conference and Tradeshow held last November”, stated MS-SA Secretary Frank Amodio, of Warehouse on Wheels. “Transportation is a unique component of Mobile Self-Self Storage and with it comes reporting, operating, and financial requirements that several of our members may be unaware or not in compliance of.”

“Attendees will leave the workshop with a complete understanding of the Department of Transportation’s requirements for operating trucks”, added MS-SA President Randy Weissman, of Storage Banc.

Topics will be presented by industry experts and will include Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing, Commercial Driver’s License Standards, Safety Fitness Procedures, Hours of Service, Driver Qualification and Training, and Equipment Inspection and Maintenance and their related Record Keeping requirements.

The meeting is open to MS-SA members and non-members. Register online at www.ms-sa.org or by calling Mary Fay Kattman at 781-932-0774.
